The newest in sidearm in the Imperial Military, the Personal Defense Pistol Mark Thirteen (PDP-13 or P-13) is an all around blaster carbine that has been shortened to allow it into the pistol category. Where as previous pistols have been made more for last effort to avoid capture, the PDP-13 had the ability to shred through enemy armor and put down enemy combatants. Where other pistols have done away with sights to allow for quicker and cheaper production, the PDP-13 has both sights on the pistol for mid range firing and has the ability to be hardwired into a troopers helmet for greater accuracy with hip firing.
The basic PDP-13 was 246 mm long and weighed 1.2 kilograms. The PDP-13's cartridges allowed for over 600 shots, and a standard trooper could carry up to sixteen cartridges standard.
Atrolite Blaster Pistol
An older model, but still efficient and preferred by many of the older soldiers, the Atrolite Blaster Pistol Mark Three (BP-3) was one of the first models that was given more power to take out enemy soldiers. Its longer barrel allowed for it to have longer range, but made it more cumbersome in close quarter combat compared to earlier models. Like early models, however, it did not have good sights and only had a flip up display on the rear of the blaster.
The BP-3 was 212 mm long and weighed 0.9 kilograms. It had the ability to fire 400 times before needing its cartridge changed. A normal trooper could carry up to fifteen cartridges.
Unlike other blasters, with three small modifications the BP-3 could be modified to fire projectile rounds in a ten round magazine.
Personal Defense Pistol
One of the earlier models, but one of the most reliable, the Personal Defense Pistol Mark Ten (PDP-10 or P-10) was able to survive as a standard issue pistol up until the Mark Thirteen was introduced. Coming standard without a sight, some older troopers who still use the pistol have put on side scope. The pistol had a short range, but was powerful when up close and could pierce most armor.
The basic PDP-10 was 161 mm long and weighed 0.7 kilograms. The PDP-10's cartridges allowed for over 100 shots, and a standard trooper could carry up to ten cartridges standard.
Droltev Blaster Carbine
The Droltev Blaster Carbine Mark Four (BC-4) is a three round burst blaster utilized by by security forces around the empire. The blaster could shred armor and punch through personal shielding. It has sights that could be used with naked eye or could be uplinked to a soldiers display.
The standard BC-4 was 243 mm long and weight in at 1.5 kilograms. With its faster rate of fire it could go for 400 bursts, of 1,200 rounds, before needing reloaded. A standard trooper could carry eight cartridges.
