The Cretiliny were formed out of slave boys taken by Markos during his campaigns as one of Soyok's commanders. Drilled hard, some of them dying in the process, he created a fighting force of deadly warriors. More than deadly, Markos gave them tastes of freedom; such as paid wages that they could spend on weapons, clothes, and other wants. They were forbidden to marry while within the Cretiliny, but could indulge in women or men; whichever was their fancy. Living together since childhood, they had great cohesion which helped during battle. Each man was trained in ranged, melee, and hand to hand combat. On top of this each man learned a trade such as armor and weapon smithing, mechanic skills, and electrical work among others.
Serving as the elite force under Markos, they won multiple battles as the vanguard force
Given the duty of protecting the Emperor and members of the Senate, the Cretiliny have been the protectors of the upper class for centuries; dating back to the time of Arthur. They were originally the only military force after the fall of the Crit, the acted like the national guard during times of peace the best warriors during times of war. Highly trained members of the legion, they are hand picked to serve the Emperor and Senate. Considered incorruptible, they are also a top of the line police force and investigation unit. There main focus however is protecting those they serve at home and abroad.
